Dentists aren’t orthodontists

Clear aligner orthodontics are a massive opportunity for dental practices. The treatment is life-changing, in demand, and can be highly profitable. Not offering clear aligners could also mean losing patients who seek care elsewhere.

Dental programs don’t always spend much time on orthodontics—even these days—leaving new grads to figure out how to move patients’ teeth. It’s a steep learning curve, and “practicing” moving teeth means risking leaving a patient with an undesirable result. As a result, most providers who offer this in-demand treatment only do one or two cases each year.

Working with S4DC/ADMCi as their Director of Content, I helped Ryan and Align develop a continuing education course that has helped thousands of Invisalign providers improve their understanding of clear aligner therapy and orient their practices for success. Our goal was to create a continuing education solution for underperforming providers that would help them double their output.

The work

Over the course of six months, I wrote promotional scripts, directed a multi-day video shoot, developed a cohesive course structure, edited and produced all course video assets, developed content and layouts for the course website, and more.

This course marked a sea change in how dentists consume educational content. Prior to Molis Coaching, dentists would have to attend conferences for similar offerings.

Molis Coaching earned over $600k in revenue in its first year of operation. As of 2024, the company is worth several million and has an international membership base of hundreds of providers.
